Future tasks

After the necessary infrastructures like the Maya Cloud Forest Lodge and trails are completed, we will focus on activities with the local population. The following components of conservation work will be enlarged in the upcoming years:

• Environmental education and education for sustainability.
• Add a value to agricultural harvest by local processing: Production of fruit jellies and arrayan candles.
• Handicrafts: Pottery with local clay.
• Biomonitoring: Training of local census takers for a long-term monitoring of bird populations.
