Would you like to experience a 10-day adventure in the cloud forest?
We have reforested 15 ha with pine trees in 2000. Lower branches need to be removed in order to promote an optimal timber growth. Three forestry camps will be organized in August 2006. Register now!


Program Forestry Camp:


1st day: Transfer from Cobán to Chelemhá in the early morning, Presentation of the activities in the Chelemhá cloud forest reserve, welcome meal in the Maya Cloud Forest Lodge, overnight in the "Rancho" (simple Maya style accomodation).


2nd day: Hike to the forestry camp, forestry training, overnight in tent (2nd-9th day).


3rd-5th day: Maintenance of pine trees.


6th day: Adventure day in the cloud forest.


7th-9th day: Maintenance of pine trees.


10th day: Hike back to the Maya Cloud Forest Lodge, Good-by dinner and receiving an acknowledgment, overnight in the "Rancho".


11th day: Transfer back to Cobán.


Costs: USD 50,00, including following services:

• Transfers (Cobán-Chelemhá-Cobán) in a 4-wheel-drive vehicle.
• Locally characteristic food (mainly tortillas and beans).
• Two meals in the Maya Cloud Forest Lodge.
• Boxed lunch "Estilo Europeo" for the adventure day in the cloud forest.

You need body fitness, but no special knowledge and experience is needed.
